ALZHEIMER’S AND RELATED DISORDERS: A FAMILY INTERNET-BASED SUPPORT AND EDUCATION PROGRAM
We are seeking patients and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and related memory disorders to participate in a 12 month research family support and education program. Our goal is to reduce caregiver burden, offer community resources and increase skills in managing the illness. Patients must be between the ages of 18-90, residing in the community, diagnosed with Alzheimers or a related disorder, and capable providing consent. Caregivers must have access to a home computer with an internet connection. This is not a medication study and participants do not have to change their health care in any way to enroll.

For more information, please contact the Principal Investigator Dr. Ted Hahn at 310.268.3163.

METABOLIC CEREBRAL IMAGING IN INCIPIENT DEMENTIA (MCI-ID)
Participants (age 65 and older and not receiving treatment for any dementia-related disorder) are sought who are experiencing problems with memory, communication skills, or general mental state. These changes could be the result of normal aging, or they could be early warnings of developing Alzheimer's disease. Through this study, we aim to determine whether data on brain metabolism can affect diagnosis and management decisions and lead to improved clinical outcomes of patients who get PET scans at an early stage of mental decline.
